Betty Cooperman, formerly of Lake Katrine died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Golden Hill Health Care Center. She was 86. She was born in Poland a daughter of the late Louis and Anna Wildman. A Holocaust survivor, she was one of the first American war brides. Her husband William Cooperman died January 19, 2004. She is survived by two daughters, Elaine Tapper and her husband Melvyn of Kerhonkson and Annette Cooperman of Kingston. Three grandchildren, Lisa Knauer, Adam Tapper, Joy Hutton and two great-grandchildren, Jordan Seth Kanuer and Nathaniel Gavin Knauer and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday today at 2:00 PM at Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston. Rabbi Hanoch Hecht will officiate. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 102, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
