Gladys S. Rubinstein

Gladys S. Rubinstein, 73, of Kingston, formerly of Ellenville, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at HealthAlliance Hospital Marys Avenue Campus, after a courageous seven year battle with lungcancer. Born in New York City, she was a daughter of the late Ludwig & Karla Cohen Schloss. Gladys was an addiction counselor for 20 years at Family of Ellenville. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Gladys is survived by her husband of 53 years, Sandy Rubinstein of Kingston, whom she married on December 19, 1959, two sons, Marc Rubinstein and his wife Jackie of Henderson, NV and Jon Rubinstein and his wife Diane of Trumbull, CT. Five grandchildren, Michael, Joanna, Jake, Josh and Jason also survive. In addition to her parents, Gladys was predeceased by a daughter, Lori Rubinstein, who passed in September, 2012. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Montrepose Cemetery at 11:00 AM, with Rabbi Yitzchok Hecht officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Congregation Agudas Achim, 254 Lucas Ave, Kingston, NY 12401. Sandy will be sitting Shiva all day on Wednesday, April 24 and Thursday, April 25 with Minyan each evening at 7 PM.
