Jacqueline Benicase, 88, of Kingston, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Ten Broeck Commons. Born in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Maxwell & Kathryn Piper Waples. Jaqueline was retired from Verizon, where she worked for many years as a telephone operator. She lived on Evergreen Street, her entire married life, where many close friendships were formed. She was a strong and independent lady with a quick wit. Jacqueline loved all kinds of music and loved to dance, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Earlier in her life she enjoyed going on family hikes and visiting local historic sites. Jacqueline is survived by her five daughters, Kathy VanKleeck and her husband Richard of Kingston, Karen Cahill and her husband James of Hurley, JoAnn Garland and her husband William of Kingston, Kristine Casciaro and her husband Paul of Kingston and Kimberly DeLong and her husband Robert of Red Hook, 10 grandchildren, Kyla (Tim) & Kristofer VanKleeck, Joseph (Laura) & Ryan Cahill, Jacquelyn, Caroline & Ian Garland, Giancarlo & Julia Casciaro and Jeremy (Nancy) DeLong, three great grandchildren, Sophia and Juliet DeGraff and Canyon DeLong. She is also survived by several brothers and sisters in law as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jacqueline was predeceased by her husband, Joseph T. Benicase, who passed in 2007, a brother, John K. Waples and a sister, Beverly Stockton. Funeral Service and interment next to her husband in Wiltwyck Cemetery will be privately held. Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave is honored to assist the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in her name to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, or Ten Broeck Commons, Activities Department, 1 Commons Drive, Lake Katrine, NY 12449. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff, for the care she received during her stay at Ten Broeck Commons.
