Janet Van Buren Dabney

Janet Van Buren Dabney, 77, of Woodstock, died July 21, 2014 at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus. Janet was born in Amsterdam, NY, and she was the daughter of the late William & Anna Day Bobilin. Janet was an active member and vice president of the Lions Club of Kingston, the organizer of the Alzheimer's Chapter of Woodstock, an active member of the Christ's Lutheran Church in Woodstock and a past member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was a confidant of her husband Dory, where she demonstrated great love and admiration and supported his musical pursuits. She is survived by her husband Dorris "Dory" Dabney of Woodstock, many cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, Janet was predeceased by her second husband, Dr. Robert Van Buren. The family will receive friends at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 4-7 PM. The Lions Club of Kingston will conduct a service at 6:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Sonja Maclary from Christ's Lutheran Church in Woodstock, officiating. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Kingston Lions Club Foundation P.O.
