Lillian Rittie-Boughton of East Kingston, was called home by our father on Friday, May 8, 2015. Born in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late John & Grace Freer Gallo. She was a cook for the Ulster County Infirmary and established the kitchen and nutrition program for the children's annex. Lillian was a charter member and past president of the East Kingston Fire Company Auxillary, a life member of the East Kingston Fire Company and was a Director Emeritus. She was a member of the Town of Ulster Republican Club, where she was an election inspector for for 50 years. She was a founding member of the Good Neighbor Social Club and served as a Cub Scout Den Mother. Lillian enjoyed attending the Flatbush Reform Church, where she was a member. She also enjoyed bingo and spending time at the fire hall, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Lillian is survived by her five children, Frank D. Rittie and his wife, Mary Ann of the Town of Ulster, Ronald J. Rittie and his wife, Loretta of Putney, VT, Brian K. Rittie and his wife, Nancy of the Town of Ulster, Joy A. Peterson and her husband, Jason of Saugerties and Michael A. Rittie, of the Town of Ulster, three step-children, Charles Boughton, Robert Boughton and Mary Ann Hill. 36 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren, 41 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, Lillian was predeceased by two husbands, Frank G. Rittie who passed in 1971 and Kenneth Boughton who passed in 1980, and a sister, Estelle Clark. Lillian will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with Pastor Jennifer Bendelius of the Flatbush Reform Church, officiating. Interment next to her first husband, Frank Rittie, will follow in Montrepose Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Flatbush Reform Church, 1844 NY-32, Saugerties, NY 12477.
