Phillip Kleinman, 95, a longtime resident of Kingston, died Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born in New York City, he was a son of the late Harry & Dora Frimmer Kleinman. Phillip worked at IBM for over 30 years as a mechanic. He was a member of the Spring Lake Fire Department where he was past Captain. He was also a member of Congregation Agudas Achim. In his spare time he enjoyed going to the YMCA. Phillip is survived by a son, Barry Kleinman of Poughkeepsie, a long time companion, Nan Kopko of Kingston, many nieces and nephews, including, Judy & Bob Thomson, Charlotte & Seymour Cooper, Marilyn & Elliot Shulman and Arthur Friedman. Good friends, Nanon, Eva, Justine, Tara, Aleks and Mallory also survive. He was predeceased by his wife, Anna Tulin Kleinman, two daughters, Dorothy & Linda Kleinman, a brother, Daniel Kleinman. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, February 10, 2014 at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave at 12:00 noon with Rabbi Yitzchok Hecht of Congregation Agudas Achim officiating. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Congregation Agudas Achim, 254 Lucas Ave., Kingston, NY 12401 The family will be sitting shiva on Monday and Tuesday at Congregation Agudas Achim at 6:00 PM and Wednesday and Thursday at the families home at 24 Savoy St. at 6:00 PM
