Stanley Kanover

Stanley Kanover, 89, of Pompton Plains, NJ, formerly of Kingston, died April 26, 2016 at Mountain View Gardens, Pompton Plains. Born in the Bronx, he was a son of the late Philip & Lillian Sontag Kanover. Stanley was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy. He and his family moved to Kingston in 1967. Stanley is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Sotnick Kanover, whom he married on October 26, 1952, a daughter, Meryl Gondelman and her husband Robert of Emerson, NJ, a son in law, Phillip Turkovitz of Port Orange, FL. Three grandchildren, Ben, Hillary and Lauren also survive. In addition to his parents, Stanley was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Turkovitz and a brother, Burton Kanover. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave at 11:30 AM, with Cantor Devorah Gartner of Congregation Ahavath Israel, officiating. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
