William Lawrence Eppler

William Lawrence Eppler of Market Street, Saugerties died Thursday, August 17, 2006 at Westchester Medical Center. He was 82. Born in Manhattan, New York on November 6, 1923, he was a son to the late Charles and Mary Dunleavy Eppler. While growing up in Manhattan he went to school at Our Lady of Perpetual Hope. He married Pauline Bendik, who died April 2, 1964. While in the New York City area he worked at Singrams Coal Yard for 16 years. After that he worked as a cashier in Harlem. He then went on to work for the General Rollean Manufacturing Company in Elmhurst, Queens. Bill moved to Saugerties in 1968 where he was the Production Foreman at Fantine's. Two brothers John and Edward Eppler died previously. Survivors include his daughter Elizabeth of New York City; one sister, Theresa Marziano of Sayville, New York; his niece and nephew, Anthony and Ann; and his dear friend Anthony Marinzulich of Saugerties. Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home on Sunday August 20, 2006 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and then at 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A graveside service will be conducted on Monday at 11:30 AM at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in Bronx, New York on Monday August 21, 2006.
